As a lover of Mel Brooks films, and this being one of my favorites, I was hoping it would be as funny and that it would come across smoothly. It did!! I was totally sold when they made the horse whinny every time Frau Bluchers name is mentioned, also one of my favorite parts in the movie!!

The play is exceptionally cast, and you feel as though they studied the film itself to become those characters. I felt as though I were watching the original movie cast!

Excellent job, would highly recommend this to anyone who is a Mel Brooks fan or otherwise!!!

What a fun event! No, it is not a thought-provoking, deep and inspiring play, but it was fun, entertaining and very enjoyable. I am glad I didn't listen to the critics. I had heard some very negative things before going, and I must not have been the only one because there were many empty seats. I overheard the people behind me saying that they had attended most of the recent plays in Chicago, and also enjoyed this remake of a classic movie. Do yourself a favor and experience Young Frankenstein for yourself!

Mel Brooks is a genius! I took my son and we did not know what to expect, but we were so impressed we wished we could see it again, but alas, it was the last night. The actors were superb and the music exciting. I bought the soundtrack and frequently listen to the music. I would reccomend this to all of my friends young and old.

I have seen the movie, "Young Frankenstein" several times and enjoyed it, but seeing a musical version was a new treat. Great young cast with the traveling tour version provided a lot of energy to the performance.

Rule number 1 with a theater show: if the performers are having fun doing the show, the audience will too. The acting wasn't the greatest ever (but not bad either) and the sets were pretty basic. But the music and choreography were good and the script was titillatingly raunchy. But most of all, the actors really seemed to be enjoying themselves. What's more fun than that?

Even if you have seen the movie, you will laugh and enjoy yourself. Yes, you have heard and seen all the gags before but they do this show so well that you will find yourself anticipating all the chuckles but laughing anyway when they occur. Can't recommend this enough. My children loved this as well.

Hard to adapt a movie to a stage play but they did a great job. It was fun.
This one is not for someone that does not like "over the top" comedy. All the subtleness of the humor of the movie is the opposite on stage.

Still provides a ton of laughs.

If you are a fan of the movie and love musicals this is the show for you. Although I did not like all the changes made for the stage, it stuck very close to the movie. The major exceptions were the ending and making Elizabeth sex crazed. Did not like her song "don't touch me". We had the understudy for Frederick and was so much like Gene Wilder it was eerie. He was incredible. Good show that you could take your teenagers to. Like the movie there is some sexual innuendos and double entendres. The score was very good and there was some great dancing - especially th e"Puttin' on the Ritz" number. The actress playing Inge was amazing!!! Loved all the cast!

What a show! Everything I loved in the movie, only better. Only thing I missed was the song for the monster was a little different: absolutely ADORED the one in the movie. Of course, cast in movie was absolutely INCREDIBLE: play's characters were just as well portrayed by the actors involved.

I throughly enjoyed this production. I could not believe how much they accomplished with such limited stage construction and prop use. The singing, dancing, and comedy was wonderful. I LOVE Mel Brooks and "Young Frankenstein" is a fav of mine. I was afraid that this musical would not hold up. I was wrong. it was stupendous. I highly recommend you go see it....BUT FIRST, make yourself acquainted with the movie so you can really appreciate the musical. WELL DONE!

The cast was amazing. There were some sound problems (orchestra drowning out the singing) and the spotlights seemed not to be following the action on stage but overall an enjoyable evening! AJ Holmes was outstanding as Dr. Frankenstein!

This show was excellent in both acting and production values.

All of the roles were very well cast. Igor, in particular, was a delight and his reactions to the other characters and situations were wonderful.

However, it was the special effects that really stole the show! They, alone, were worth the price of admission. To also have excellent casting, set, lighting, sound, costuming, hair/makeup, etc etc was just the cherry on top, so to speak.

(I was a little surprised to not see signs anywhere warning epilectics about the flashing lights in the show.)

An excellent show -- Go see it! :)
