I've been waiting to see Clutch since seeing them many year ago in support of their self titled album and they did not disapoint. Their sound was a good as ever, with a great mix of blues riffs and hard rock power.
Clutch played before Hell Yeah, which was good in that I didn't have to sit through Hell Yeah to see Clutch, but bad in that there was no encore.
I was not particularly interested in Hell Yeah, but stayed for their first couple of songs. I have to say that they were much heavier than I expected from their You Tube videos. While their ultra heavey "scream metal" is not my thing (been there, done that), Hell Yeah is very good at what they do.
I thought the paring of Clutch and Hell Yeah was rather odd, as they really play in separate genres. Apparently I'm not the only one who thought that, as about 1/2 the crowd cleared out after Clutch. Hell Yeah still had a sizeable group of fans though.
All in all it was a good show and I felt I got my money's worth.
