I took my mom to see this last friday. It was great fun. The actors had great voices. Cheryl had a FANTASTIC evil giggle and it must have been so much fun to stick your head up, say your quirky line, and then slam the door back down. Jake was awesome. Ed was great. Good call doing the Shelly/Annie combo.

Timing was a bit off on a couple things. Cheryl got out of breath between song lines. The blood shooting up from the floor, the sound of the gun shot blast, ect. The fake Linda head was very very fake. Linda's headless body was pretty funny though. Very over the top, but good.

MARIO BROTHERS WERE HYSTERICAL (great idea for a transition). Loved the mustache wiggle.

I wasn't a huge fan of the set transition decisions. Simply removing the chairs from the cabin to signal being out doors...not so much. I would have rathered the cover from the very beginning be put on a drop curtain (raised and lowered when it's time for an outdoor scene). This would have kept audience members being able to see the actors standing in the back when the bedroom door opened.

Also, the Slatter Zone was poorly located. I don't believe anyone in the zone got splattered, the closest they might have got was the spray towards the fridge, but I don't even think it got close. I DID notice splatters on the floor directly IN FRONT of the stage, which REALLY, is where the Splatter Zone should have been located. I wouldn't be surprised if those seated front center did get splattered.

All in All though. It was a fun show. Thank you!

I enjoyed the small close and personal production of Evil Dead. There were only a couple points where I had trouble understanding a line or two, but there was nothing missed. I wish there had been more blood earlier on and it didn't look like the splatter zone got much on them. Got a kick out of the back pack of lube, condoms, and boxed wine of character carried around.
Great job cast!

This was fantastic! Such a fun night but beware...they told us that the right side of the stage was the "splatter zone" and provided plastic to cover yourself but it my experience the front rows of right, left and center were all "in the zone". I would love to see this again. Honestly wouldn't mind the opportunity to see it once a year around Halloween. Good times!

Evil Dead the Musical is a must see for any Evil Dead fan. The play incorporated aspects of all three movies. I found it to be a comedic masterpiece. I would recommend this show to anyone who enjoys comedy and horror.

2nd time seeing the Musical and couldn't recommend it more. Music numbers that are funny, raunchy, gross, and filled with blood. What more could you ask for. Hail to the King, baby.

A good performance by talented people. I liked the staging, singing, acting, humor, sprays of fake blood - just about everything. If you're looking for timeless songs or a family-friendly event, look elsewhere. If you want to laugh and have a good time, this is well worth the money.

Great show! This was the first time for me and I really didn't know what to expect. I was familiar with the story, but how to put that into a musical? Wow, what a show! We did not sit in the splatter zone, but the folks that did, did not seem to get too covered. I thought the show was funny, clever and well acted. I would definitely go again and recommend it to any of my friends. I think it would help if you knew the story going in though, so watch the movie and then go to the show.

I've never been to The City Theatre before and I really liked it. It's a small, intimate place with good acoustics and very well ran. There's no bad seats, only good and better. I will check their schedule from time to time for other events. Evil Dead is fun. The whole audience was really into it. The acting is very good. Every character was memorable. I really liked the dumb blond and the sister of the main character. My only suggestion would be to make the sound effects of the chainsaw a bit crisper. A trip to Greektown afterwards made for the perfect evening. Thanks.

This was my first year seeing Evil Dead the musical and after the show, the first thing out of my mouth was, " I can't wait for next year!" As a major horror film junkie and Halloween lover, buying tickets for this show was a no brainer. We sat in the "splatter zone" which in my opinion made the experience so much more fun. For those who have never been and don't mind getting messy, I highly recommend you sit in the splatter zone. The characters were very well played and so funny. The theater was very small and intimate which made me feel like they were putting on the show just for me. The cast interacted with the audience throughout the show and i was laughing the entire time! The group I went with made tshirts that said "what the f#@k was that" which is my favorite song in the musical and they were a huge hit. I am definitely a fan and i can't wait til next year. This show will surely become a tradition for my husband and i every year. A word of advice for those who plan on sitting in the coveted splatter zone: tickets are all general admission and seating is first come first served so be sure to arrive early and get as close to the trap door as possible! You won't be disappointed!

If you're a fan of the Evil Dead trilogy you will love this show. The songs were intentionally cheesy and really funny. They brought in many of Bruce Campbell's famous catchphrases and the audience did their part to repeat them with the guy playing Ash. I was sitting in the "splatter zone" which we kept getting hit with fake blood! It was awesome! By the end of the show we were covered (we wanted to covered too). So just a suggestion, if you want to get sprayed make sure you don't wear anything that you wouldn't mind having stained up. It is all in part of the fun. I will definitely go next time the show comes back! "Shop smart, shop S-Mart....You got that!!"
