Show was good once we found seats where we could see the show. We bought seats close to the stage that should have NEVER been sold because you couldn't see the show at all.

My 3 year old was in awe, she loves Max and Ruby! The only thing was the long intermission wasn't necessary

the show was adorable. my boys loved it! it was sweet and cute and so christmas-y. i only wish that santa would've made an appearance at the end. the dancers and characters were so great. really great show!

If you ask me to describe the show, i will say SHORT!
It was so short that my daughter cried when it was over.
We both got very upset. I would not recommend this show to anyone!

I brought my 3 year old boy and 1 year old girl. Our son loves the music of the Nutcracker Suite as well as the passages of the story about the tin soldiers, fritz and marie bickering over the nutcracker, the fateful jaw break, the massive growing christmas tree, and most of all, the mouse king! basically everything i just described was glassed over in about 20 seconds of dry reading by max and ruby's grandmother. the only time you see an actual nutcracker is for about 1 minute in the first act. this show is directed mainly at kids who want to see the sugar plum fairy and the other ballerinas.
It was soooo expensive.
i must give an A++++ for the Oakdale and in particular its staff who were amazing and friendly and so helpful.

Excellent writing and a superb job of telling the story and introducing the music to preschool and lower grades. I took my 5 yr old granddaughter who did not know the story of the Nutcracker, and she loved it. Ruby, Gramma and Max were terrific.

My daughter was so excited to go. Limited audience interaction. Given the title I expected more of the Nutcracker Suite to be told. Just dances. The best was the sing along at the end of Christmas music. I have been to Yo Gabba Gabba and Fresh Beat Band shows. Those were far better. I would not go again. Save your $ for a better show. Also started 15 min late.

Was kinda slow, not very thoughtful and did not really get the kids going. Certainly good enough to spend a few hours on but would not go out of your way to make it happen.

Little ones enjoyed seeing their favorite bunnies Max & Ruby live at The Oakdale; for most it was their first time in a theater. The children were introduced to the music, dance & various characters in The Nutcracker through the eyes of Max & Ruby. When it seemed the children were getting a bit restless, the tempo wouild change and there would be an interaction between Ruby & Max and the children in the audience. Although, none of the kids were humming as they exited the theater; later on our little one heard the music and started to spin around with her sister.

this show was on a tuesday afternoon at 2 pm so for the most part younger children were present and I found my 4 year old twin boys children somewhat bored. I had looked the show up online and what the trailer showed was not what the show was this year. I believe the beginnig with the different live toys was fine the ballot after ballot was a bit much. no to mention no life size nutcracker in the show. ending was good getting everyone involved singing christmas songs was good

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Max and Ruby show. The Nutcracker was explained in an easy to understand way, there was a nice balance between the characters and the ballet dancers, and the show was the right length to keep the interest of the young children in the audience.

There was too much ballet for the age if the children. Also they did not get the children in the audience involved until the last 10 minutes.

My rather sophisticated daughter who is 6 and a 1/2 really loved it. It is NOT an exact nutcracker rendition; the story & dance is broken into segments to make the whole thing more accessible to the 3-6 crowd. There is an intermission & they did sing Xmas songs at the end---it is currently December.
For us, it was a good "introduction" & next yr, I'm doing Lincoln Center.

Max and Ruby's Nutcracker performance was excellent. It was just right for my 4 year old ballerina granddaughter. The setting was simple yet very effective. The cotumes and dancers were dazzling for her. The twists on the original story were clever. I thought the inclusion of Frosty and the gingerbread/candy cane songs and dancers came at just the right time for little ones. I would shorten the intermission to 10 minutes.

The show was great! Max and Ruby kept our daughter's attention and allowed her to have a real introduction into The Nutcracker and ballet in general. The set was simple and unobtrusive. Nothing about the show was overly fancy, but our daughter loved it. She spent the rest of the day dancing throughout our errands.

My kids loved the show. When we were leaving they asked when we were coming to see it again. It was very cute and entertaining. I would definitely come see it next year.

My daughter is four and ADORES Max & Ruby - in fact, it's the only show she watches. The live show, however, was terribly disappointing. Ballet and the Nutcracker are not made for the 3-5 year old audience, which is the focus group for the show. The kids were terribly bored, and while the costumes were cute and the singing of Christmas carols with the kids was a nice addition, there was little interaction, nothing in terms of set, and a majority of the show was ballet performances which even for adults wasn't too exciting.
