What a great evening. I sat back in the comfortable seating closed my eyes and drifted to the music. The acoustics is state of the art.

Ralph Bowen is an amazing saxophonist, and all of his members did an exceptional job on their instruments as well. It was nice because each member had their own break down in the songs, so the spotlight wasn't mainly on person or one instrument the entire time.
Jazz always puts me in a good mood and I left Monday night's concert feeling great. I am certainly looking forward to attending more events like this.

It was the most exciting musical experience in years. My husband and I are very excited to be in a place (We recently moved to Tampa) where we can hear live jazz, and the high caliber of the music is an indescribable treat. We look forward to many more magical musical experiences at USF.
(And, having been in Rome, Florence, and Sienna in the spring, the slides were frosting on the cake---thank you!)

Chuck Owen and the Jazz Surge Big Band was great, playing selections from all four albums, including most recent Grammy nominee. Great sound anywhere, as a big band and each individual player. Sound was incredible in the new USF Concert Hall. Going to a Surge concert is well worth it, and going to a concert in new facility at USF is definitely worth it.

This was a wonderful program by a talented local jazz guitarist playing his own compositions with equally amazing accompanists. And a bargain to boot!
