The Friday evening show with Dance Kaleidoscope at Emens Auditorium showed just how professional this company's performances can be. Their lifts and leaps take your breath away. The opening number, Earth, was thrilling. Shane Patton is riveting as the father figure surrounded by all living creatures. Subsequent sections explored feelings of exploration through the mysterious underworld realm. The original music and dramatic lighting enhance the mysteries as the dancers led the audience through unknown territory.
The second half of the show, Skin Walkers, had live music and provided a lighter counterpoint to the dark vision of Earth. The movements of the dancers expressed a complex range of emotions from the brooding of Earth to the lively jig of Skin Walkers.
