I'm not a dancer and only watched the show because my 3 daughters insisted on watching it. For a person who doesn't particularly enjoy this type of event, I had quite an enjoyable time. My daughters loved it, which increased my enjoyment of it. With that said, the performance was quick paced interjected with commentary from the particpants of the show who act as MC's while others are preparing for their dance routines. In short, I think they pulled it off. From start to finish it was about 3 hours with about a 20 minute intermission, but it was over before we knew it. And by the way, we were in the nose bleeds and though we weren't up close, it was still a bunch of fun. I imagine those on the floor had an even more enjoyable time. If you're a fan of the show, I recommend it.

My daughter and I have been to other shows like American Idol but this show went far beyond my anticipation. There is something about seeing the dancing "live" that isn't captured as you watch it on television. For example, when the judges would talk about the disco being very fast, it didn't seem as fast on tv as it did live. There is something about seeing the dancers "live" that makes each dance you loved become even more poignant. The addiction & the cancer dance pieces are two examples--they move you when you watch on tv but nothing like seeing them live. Having a chance to see each of the dancers' personalities shine in the show was great fun. The show itself was really well done and totally worth the money spent. I would absolutely go again & highly recommend it to anyone who loves the show.

My daughter who is a dancer and I went. It was our first time seeing SYTYCD live. It was an awesome experience. So much so that I want to make it a tradition. Everytime they're in Sacramento we are there.

I took my mom to this show for her birthday, and we had an amazing time with our front row seats. Since we followed Season 5 very closely, we had so much fun getting up close and personal with all of the amazing dancers that we had come to know and love. It had been a few months since the end of Season 5, so seeing the dancers one last time was a real treat. Four days later, my voice is still gone from the screaming.

They kept trying to work the Russian Folk Dance into the show as a running joke, and it was hilarious. Loved Kupono's plug for the "Get Fit" DVDs.

One of my favorite dances was the Jewelry Thieves dance done by Brandon and Jeanette. I was so glad they included that in the show!

The only criticism I have is that the dialog tended to be a bit cheesy. It took away from the overall show. It was meant to be nostalgic, but it came across a bit forced and slow.

It was a good show from what is still the best season of So You Think You Can Dance. Season Six's dancers can't hold a candle to Season Five's, and watching this show will remind you why. Loved all the favorite dances from last year, although this year's tour didn't live up to the standards of past tours. Previous years had special dances choreographed for the tour. There were only one or two this time around. The terrible Russian folk dance served as a running gag, but soon became stale. The dancers' ad-libbing skills need work; there was a lot of dead air while we were waiting for set and costume changes. The commercials for their aerobics video and the Dizzy Feet Foundation right in the middle of the acts were annoying. Biggest disappointment of all was that Philip was brought along even though he didn't finish in the top 10, yet he didn't do one of his signature popping solos.

I was very disappointed in the show. Although the dancers are phenomenal, the show itself was simply a review of the season, which we could get online FOR FREE if we wanted to see the same old dances. We already know they can dance and already know what they DID, what we were hoping to see was MORE. Not canned hosting, behind the scene videos we've already seen numerous times on the show and video announcers. If we weren't fans we wouldn't have been at the show. I think that the producers of this show need to give theirfans something NEW to be wowed by and definately more of the winner of the show. Don't get me wrong, the dancers are talented, the choreography is beyond amazing BUT WE ALREADY SAW IT. A FEW of the previous dances would be enough but every single routine? If they continue working the show like a rerun of the season, we will definately NOT go again.

Awesome show with plenty of high-energy and excitement. Jason of course received the loudest applause performing in his hometown of Fresno, CA, but all the dancers were outstanding. They performed most of the favorite dances from season 5 with the show lasting almost 3 hours including a 1/2 hour intermission.

lost in translation

There definelty was a loss of translation from watching the show on TV and then seeing it in person on a stage...I think the show could have been enhanced with some type of scenery changes ....The dancers often looked stark on the gray stage with the boring video back ground. Also the large monitors meant to aid the audience with close up views of the dancers was over very poor grainy quality. I love the show and will continue to be and advid watcher but most likely will not attend another live production until they have made a change to improve the presentation.

So you think you can dance was an experience worth watching. Everything was so amazing the dancers really had everyone going and i thought it was amazing that they had the top twelve not just the top ten. Everyone was loving it whenever Jason came out. To be honest i would say they should do this show in the same town twice and i would see it both times. I give it a million thumbs up!!!!

In general, big fan of the show and big fan of Season 5 cast so I was eager to get tickets and see them live. Seats were kind of far back so was hard to see the performers and the video screens to the side didn't really enlarge the view to any degree so it was more like a reminder of the show instead of being an impressive fresh experience.

Also, the show was so rehearsed with Perky dialog, canned Kat Deeley announcements, canned Nigel Lithgow welcomes and replays of the season as well as pretty much identical routines throughout. Though it was nice to see and cheer for some great dancers, there was an absence of the passion and tension due to the fact that competition of the show was no longer part of the program.

In the end, I think the biggest fans will enjoy being in the building with their favorites live, the more marginal fan will either have to get seats much closer or pass on the live event.

This our third season attending the national tour show. It would have been helpful if an announcement was made or a sign posted to let attendees know that Phillip is sick or performing injured. He performed beautifully at Sacramento a couple of days before, but he looked a little lame in San Jose. I'm sure that other attendees thought his dances weren't written in the show.

Yes, you can have fun at the "So you think you can Dance tour". It was exciting to see the dances live. I enjoyed getting to know each dancer on a more personable level as each was able to speak throughout the show. This group of season 5 dancers were very enjoyable to watch.

I enjoyed seeing my the dancers live in the So You Think You Can Dance Tour. However, the overuse of lighting and big screens was a distraction. I had to struggle to actually see the dancing.

I enjoyed seeing the many great dances from the season; they were better live in person. I only wish that there was a couple more new dances (outside of the Russian Dance). I was surprised that Phillip didn't do a hip hop dance. Was he really recruited on the tour just to do the folkdance?

I also didn't need to see all the "film" from the season. It hasn't been that long since the season ended. I loved all the major routines.

BORING!!! Stretching this to a three hour production was a disaster. What a yawner. Comments over heard as we were exiting echoed our thoughts. It needed to be more lively with more group numbers. I probably am done going to future shows. At the end of the act, the audience applauded. The performer(s) would then walk to the front of the stage and bow initiating another applause. THEN two more dancers would come out and say, "Let's hear it again for..." initiating a 3rd. applause. Way too much time taken resulting in annoying filler. There was an intermission, but no idea as to how long it was. It's nice when you are told how long the intermission is. It seemed like it went on way too long.

The SYTYCD tour contains amazing dancing--there's no doubt about that. What's doubtful is the choice of an arena as the venue. There is no good seat for a dance concert in the HP Pavilion. You're either on the floor looking up, or you're so far away you can't see, or you're off to the side. Your choices are to strain to see or to watch the action on a giant monitor, at which point you may as well just watch the show on television at home.

That said, the show itself was good. I could have done with less video and talking and more dancing, but I suppose the dancers need some time to change costumes.

I found it very strange that they never explained why Phillip wasn't really dancing. It appears he was injured, but why wouldn't they just announce that during or before the show? I'd heard great things about his solo and would have preferred seeing a taped version to not seeing it at all--as long as they already had the giant screens in place.

It was a wonderful show. The lighting effects were beautiful. The dancers not only kept us on the edge of our seats but were great during the announcing too. Save Mart Center, Fresno is so easy to access and depart from. I have never had a bad seat in that house. Thank you!!!
