As is their custom, Gov't Mule showed their mettle when they played to an enthusiastic crowd at the Newport Yachting Center, Newport, RI, on Thursday, June 6, 2013. They never disappoint, and I've personally attended many of their shows. Warren Haynes proved once again that he's a premier guitarist of the highest order, leading the band through many favorites and busting out with a few surprise covers. A highlight for my son and son-in-law, attending their first Mule show, was the excellent cover of Alice Cooper's "Is It My Body". I particularly enjoyed the "St. Stephen Jam" ably covering the classic Grateful Dead standard. If you are a music fan and ever have the opportunity, I strongly urge you to get out to a Gov't Mule show, you will without a doubt have a great time. Cheers...
