Featured Review

Listening to a Dr. Dog album, you wouldn't expect the type of show that the band puts on. Their live performances are very passionate and energetic, and have much more of a rock feel than their recorded music does. The thing I liked best about their performance was that they are not just getting up on stage and going through the motions. They play each song with emotion and you can tell that they truly love the music that they play. I will see this band at every future opportunity, and encourage any fan of quality live music to do the same.

I have wanted to see these guys for the longest time, and finally got to recently. The Masquerade was a great venue for them, because it was small and intimate. They were incredible performers, and had a spectacular stage presence. The crowd was fun, no fights, everyone was having a great time. I will certainly see them again!

Dr. Dog was fantastic! Their energy onstage and the crowd's energy really made the concert great. They played a great set, and their opener was pretty decent. I was sad it was over at the end, and I will definitely go again if they come back to Atlanta.

This was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. Dr. Dog has been one of my favorite bands for a while now, and being able to see them at such an intimate venue was great. They have brilliant stage presence and they make every song they play your next favorite. HIGHLY recommend

I had never been to a Dr. Dog show before, and Eric (drummer) said it would be an amazing show. He was right. They really put their everything into each song and seem to enjoy playing. If they had another Florida date, I would've gone to that show too. That's how great they are.

The show was awesome despite the acoustics being a little off. It sounded like their bass was up way too high for some songs. I've read other reviews about this though, and I think it was more the venue than the band. I still had a great time though!!

Amazing what you can do with a few instruments, some colored lights, and serious musical talent. Dr. Dog's songs generally sound pretty laid-back on their recorded albums, but performed live, they transform into something hard-edged and powerful. The bassist may possibly be insane, in the best way. These guys are awesome live, and they deserve more widespread recognition and fame than they've got.

First dr dOg show but definitely not my last. They lay it all out there and give it their all. Reminds me of a poppier my morning jacket. Just killer. Every song on the new album is a stadium rocker. JA Ford never ceases to amaze. The BYOB policy made it all the better. Cheers.

Dr. Dog not only played yet again another powerful and thrilling set, but they decided to bring another more unknown favorite of mine, Cotton Jones, along with them on tour. I can say I was almost more excited to see Cotton Jones and I actually got to meet the band after the show. Newport always puts on a good show and you can't go wrong with an amazing venue and an amazing 2 bands.

Not only was this the best show we'be seen at the Newport, it was the best show this year. This is the second time I'be attended a DD show, and this one was significantly improved over the last. The playlistism spanned acrossed all over their released albums, and they hit every song I was hoping to hear live. I can't wait to see them again.

The first time I saw them perform live, I had never heard of them before that. They were awesome then. This time, I started to listen to them a little bit and know a couple of songs by them, but even if I had not done that, it would have been an amazing concert. They really just get into their music. They are the type of band that genuinely enjoys what they do, and you can really feel the energy throughout the crowd. Everyone that I saw, was having a good time and dancing around.

Dr. Dog is one of my favorite bands of all time! The Royale is an interesting venue, but for some reason it really worked for this show. Dr. Dog played as much music as they possibly could, because the show was a short time frame, with no time to waste. We had a great time, can't wait until they come back to Boston!
