I thought for sure the cheesy performance was all tongue in cheek, like this guy Benise was playing with and making fun of the whole flowing hair, rock-star stance performances we used to see. But I realized about halfway through the show that not only did this mediocre performer believe his own hype but that the audience did too. I guess not many quality performances and performers make it out to the sleepy town of Thousand Oaks, CA. Maybe they are starved for culture and the arts. Anyway, a couple of the band members were pretty good and the showgirls were great. If you really like classical guitar I highly recommend catching a show of Rodrigo y Gabriela - their abilities will take your breath away. No hair flinging necessary.

I knew Benise made beautiful music but the actual concert was perfect. The venue was the perfect size for his show, the show was beautifully balanced, the costumes colorful and exciting. The dancers very talented, the ambiance so upbeat and Benise with his guitar was devine.

Took my girlfriend and daughter and we all loved the show. The musicians and dancers were exceptional. I would recommend to everyone. The Fox Theater is a great venue. The acoustics are unbelievable.

after seeing Benise a few times, this show combined more rock ballads in the first set, and more spanish styles dances for the second half. The remake rock tracks were strong and exciting . Each musician also did there solo pieces with a very powerful violinist. As usual Benise did his solo but it was boring. He just flops his hair back too much and it becomes a distraction. The 4 dancers were exotic- fine tuned and well choreographed, and one exceptionally did high leg kicks.This show was not as romantic as before nor set design, but with a few video vinets and great costume dress the flavor of the time was good enough to tap your feet along with his beat.

The 4-piece acoustical ensemble displayed minimal musicianship and generated noise equivalent to a jet engine. The dancers, however, were well trained, well choreographed, and very artistic. The show was a clear mis-match of want-a-be musicians with accomplished dancers.

Absolutely amazing! Super incredible! Had an amazing time, wanted to get up and dance! Loved every moment of it and loved all the Cuban flavor during the second half! I am Cuban/American and felt Benise really portrayed what Cuba was all about at one point. Their music and dancing! Loved it all!!!

The first half of the concert seemed to be dubbed and was very disappointing. After the intermission everything changed and it was just wonderful This was the 5th concert by Benise that I had attended and not much had changed in 5 years. Except for new members of the cast it was pretty much the same.

From beginning to end En Fuego was just that. The performers were electrifying and Benise was spellbounding and he wove classical guitar with classic rock hits such as Led Zeppelin's "Kashmire" and have Brian Adam's "Have You Ever Love a Woman". And that bilingual rendition of the Eagles, "Hotel California" almost equaled the orginal in appeal. the performance unfortunately ended with the energetic closing number, Salsa Salsa which had everyone on their feet and desring to hit the dance floor for a night of Carnival.

I highly recommned Benise to all the lovers, the dreamers and spanish guitar lovers.

I had such an amazing time, there was not a detail I would change!! dancers amazing! set amazing, costumes as well. The magic happens when you realize how much passion has gone into this show, wow! The Benise cast loves what they do & they want you to go away with an experience that inspires & reminds you to love, dance & thrive!!!

Benise is gifted, special musician. He put on a nice production concert.
I have to say that we miss the old Benise we saw in a park in Oxnard not to long ago. We all know he is getting bigger and popular, but we wanted to hear more Benise and not so much of the back ground show. As we all know Benise can light up a stage with just a guitar and himself. Have you ever seen the movie 'Pure country" when a musician looses his roots... I kind of felt that way watching Benise on stage at this concert. This is not a bash on Benise because we all think he is a very talented, gifted musician. We will continue to see him play and wish for one day to see a little more of the old Benise one on one with his fans..
Overall I could never say it was a bad concert, I think if he had a bad concert it would still be the best we ever heard. Regards
